Explanation of Fees

Stella Maris College has introduced a simple flat fee structure where all compulsory fees have been amalgamated.

Student Fee (includes tuition & other course costs):

Includes Tuition, Resources, Computer Resources, Sport, Excursions and Activities, visiting speakers/artists/writers, swimming and athletics carnivals.

[note: Excursions and activities are year group and subject dependent, such as the carnivals and retreats. Year 7 Orientation Camp, Year 9 Camp and the Retreats for Years 8, 10 and 11 are included. There is no refund for students who do not attend the major camp or retreat as attendance is compulsory.]

Maintenance Levy:

This is a compulsory levy to enable the College to maintain a program of long-term maintenance. Parents may choose to be involved in the College and give of their time in lieu of this payment (e.g. work in the Library, Canteen, or Uniform Shop). Other suggestions for how you might get involved in the College community can be found on the Parent Partners page of the website.

Capital Works Levy:

This is a compulsory levy for building projects. The Capital Levy is set each year by the College and approved by the Board. The income from the levy contributes to the capital costs of the College buildings, infrastructure, construction and maintenance of facilities. As this amount forms a collectable part of school fees no tax deduction is possible.

Voluntary Building Fund – Recommended $400 per family:

This is an optional, voluntary payment of any amount paid to the Stella Maris College Building Fund. You may claim a tax deduction for these payments. Stella Maris College Building Fund No. AF 1595C SF 6875. Please contact the Finance Office for more information.

Performing Arts Fees

Performing arts fees are billed at the end of March and August once choices have been made. We ask that these fees are paid in full by Payway or EFT transfer.

Opal Card:

Please ensure your daughter/s has a topped up OPAL child/youth (green): card for use on public transport during College excursions.

Sibling Discounts

Sibling discounts are given to daughters who concurrently attend the College.

Second Student        $920

Third Student          $2300

Fourth Student       $4600

Notice of Withdrawal

Should the student leave the College, one full term’s notice of this intention is to be provided in writing to the College. Where this notice is not given, one full term’s fees will be billed in lieu of such notice. This is a genuine pre-estimate of the College’s loss.
