Last week we had a group of girls from each year attend the highly contested da Vinci Decathlon competition held at Knox Grammar where hundreds of teams from private schools around NSW and the ACT compete. The Year 11 bright sparks had the winning formula when they took out first place in the Science category and our Year 8’s also mapped their way to success, taking out second place in the Cartography category. The Decathlon competition places a particular emphasis on higher order thinking skills, problem solving and creativity. To get up this inclined plane meant the girls had to have a thorough understanding of the topography of the playing field! Congratulation to all the girls from Year 7 to Year 11 who competed in this academically challenging event and conducted themselves as fine ambassadors for the College.
Congratulations in particular to the Year 8 team who took second place in Cartography: Alexandra A, Jazmin C, Mia F, Lisa K, Emily M, Grace R, Anabel S and Emily V and acclamation to the Year 11 team who took first place in Science: Riona C, Sarah F, Alice H, Erin F, Sydney K, Carly L, Mia M-S and Maisie N.
