Retreat is a deeply meaningful and life-giving experience for students – it allows us to explore spirituality and reflect on our Catholic values in meaningful ways.
Year 10 centred around the theme, Choose Yoru Own Adventure – focusing on making positive decisions for their lives now and in the future. Many parents commented that their daughters returned home with a new attitude towards themselves and others. Our hope is that a seed is planted in our students that helps them thrive and grow as young ladies who can make a positive difference in this world.
Some quotes from the girls and teachers
“I absolutely loved the ‘tude’ session and the ‘shooting for the stars’ session where we had the chance to write to our year 12 selves. Overall I learnt to be a more positive, happier person who thinks outside the box and isn’t afraid to take a chance when offered one”. Breanna T
“During the two days of retreat, I’ve harvested a lot of things which have a lifelong benefit. I reassessed myself and had a completely new view. I found who I really want to become, which skill or trait I want to develop and what personality I need to change. ‘Confident’, ‘brave’ and ‘patient’ are the top three traits I want to own”. Natalie L
“Year 10 retreat was a meaningful experience that has given our year group a foundation to support us in our senior years. Incorporating Catholic faith in a way that everyone could find their own meaning gave the retreat an added dimension of spirituality and opportunity for deeper connections with others. My gratitude is beyond words!” Maisie N
“You’d send your daughter to Stella just for this experience- the retreat epitomised the Colleges’ values and helped develop them in every girl”. Mr Mellis (Teacher)
