Stella Maris College concluded 2022 on a high with news of outstanding academic success.
The Class of 2022 produced the College’s best ever HSC results. Stella ranked 63rd in the State, was among the top ten independent Catholic schools in New South Wales and was the best performing Catholic school on the Northern Beaches.
Principal, Liz Carnegie said the results could be attributed to the resilience and focus of the Year 12 cohort and the support of their teachers and parents.
“We were delighted for the 70 students who made the Distinguished Achievers list, but equally proud that 100% of students achieved their Higher School Certificate.”
“These same students were at the forefront of many social justice, community, and environmental care initiatives in 2022 and we have every confidence that these action-oriented women will continue to make a positive difference in their communities,” Ms Carnegie said.
Individual success included Soraya G. finishing 5th in the State for Mathematics Standard 2 and Saskia C. finishing in 9th place in Textiles and Design.
Stella’s Band 6 results were 10.4% above the State average.
